1. hard, hardly
hard意思为“努力地”，而hardly意思为“几乎不”。例如：
No one works harder than the new comer. 没有有比新来的那个人工作更卖力了。
I could hardly understand the physics professor. 我几乎听不懂物理教授的课。
2. deep和 deeply
deep往往指有形的“深”，而deeply往往指比喻意义上的“深”。初一英语练习题例如：

3. wide和widely

4. close和closely

5. near和nearly

6. how long, how often和how soon
how long意思是“多长时间”，指的是时间长度，表示某个动作持续发生了多长时间，它一般和延续性动词连用。how often意思是“多长时间一次”，它用来对表示频度的副词或短语提问，表示某个动作多长时间发生一次。how soon意思是“再过多久，多长时间以后”，它表示某个动作再过多长时间才会发生，它常对“in+短时间”进行提问。例如：
How long have you worked here. 你在这儿工作多长时间了？
How long did it take you to build this house? 建造这所房子花了你多长时间？
—How often do you go home? 你多久回家一次了？
—Once a month. 一个月一次。
—How soon can you be ready? 你最快要多长时间才能准备好?
—In a week. 一周以后。
